Nicholson Violins

Amati Violin scroll by Oliver Nicholson

Oliver Nicholson is recognised by his peers as one of the promising violin-makers of his generation.

His fascination with wood and with making the most delicate and beautiful things started young: as a child he built tiny model railway locomotives.  At secondary school he discovered lathes and woodturning; in Cambridge he started making his first violin and in the course of honing his lutherie skills at the universally renowned Newark International School of Violin Making, this endlessly fulfilling fascination grew and developed.
